Catch Data Systems continues hiring surge, adds Laura Hunter to growing team
Catch Data Systems continues to buck the national trend of stagnant job growth with a continued hiring surge.
The company’s latest addition is Laura Hunter, a senior programmer/analyst with nearly two decades of experience in healthcare IT. An expert in practice management systems and programming, she is skilled in supporting a number of GE Centricity Business clients and applications, including SCHED, BAR, PCS, MCA and HPA. Her proficiencies also include EDI, M, SQL and DBMS development and she is well practiced in client- and vendor-side analysis, bringing a well-rounded insight to her systems approach.
“Laura is a great addition to the team,” said Bob Annis, partner at Catch Data Systems. “We are always looking for qualified people and continue to have a number of positions available, but it’s always terrific to be able to add someone to the team that has such broad knowledge and expertise. She is a phenomenal asset to our clients.”
Laura’s previous positions include serving as BAR team lead and technical advisor at Sutter HealthCare in Sacramento, Calif., senior healthcare IT consultant at GE Centricity (IDX) in Burlington, Vt., senior IDX and M technology consultant at Henry Elliot in Houston, Texas, and systems analyst/programmer level V at St. Joe/Sandia/FCG Consulting in Alburquerque, N.M.
Laura earned her bachelor’s of Science degree in Computing Information Systems from Castleton State College and also holds an Associate Degree in Microcomputers from the Community College of Vermont. She has also completed courses on various topics including SQL, and Project Management, Negotiation, Feedback Skills, and Managing Conflict.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I like to Geocache.
What do you like best about working at Catch Data and how is working here different compared to other places you’ve worked?
It is a great group of people to work with and I enjoy the energy of a smaller company and the feeling of being part of a family and a team.
What do you feel is the biggest benefit you provide to customers?
I believe the biggest benefit I provide is a broad knowledge base of IT systems, healthcare data and years of experience working with this data in its many configurations.
What is the biggest challenge facing the healthcare billing industry today and how do you help customers meet it?
The biggest challenge facing the healthcare billing industry today is the constant change in the industry. It’s really hard to keep up with. I’ve seen a lot of change in my time in this industry and have had to change my skill sets accordingly as well. By going through many of those experiences myself, I can help our customers navigate the challenges that constant change presents.
